Construction
Health surveillance for construction.
Breakers, saws, silica dust, noise and plant: construction workers face more surveillance-triggering hazards than almost anyone. We bring the clinic to your site.

What we see in construction.
- Loud noisePeople have to shout to be heard 2 m away, or use noisy tools
- Vibrating hand toolsBreakers, grinders, cut-off saws, chainsaws, impact wrenches
- Dust, fumes or flourWood or stone dust, welding fume, flour, spices, solvents
- Skin irritants or wet workCutting fluids, cement, cleaning chemicals, frequent hand washing
- Forklifts or lift trucksCounterbalance, reach trucks, pallet movers
- Safety-critical rolesDriving, machinery, working at height, public safety
Construction has some of the highest rates of occupational ill health in the UK, from hand-arm vibration and noise-induced hearing loss to respiratory disease from silica and wood dust. Much of it is preventable, and most of it carries a legal duty to provide health surveillance.
We run clinics on-site or at your yard, sending questionnaires through the portal in advance so each assessment takes as little time out of the programme as possible.
